Elegant, the Yaksha black pepper?
Black pepper is a berry from the piperaceae family. Whether white, black or green, it is the same plant. Originating in south-west India, more specifically on the Malabar coast, pepper has attracted the covetousness of merchants from all over the world for thousands of years. In the Middle Ages, pepper featured prominently in medieval gastronomy, but it was reserved for the European elite and was used as a currency of exchange, its value being higher than that of gold. Then came the Portuguese, Dutch and British to conquer this expensive spice. Today, pepper is used to season dishes all over the world, and in French cuisine it is as indispensable as salt. The elegant Yaksha black pepper? These large black peppercorns, with their exotic fruit flavours, are distinguished by their beautiful uniformity and intense black colour, with the finesse and elegance of a black panther.
