Beyond organic
Of the faithful, Yaksha cumin?
Cumin probably originated in the Nile Valley and the eastern Mediterranean, but India remains the biggest producer and consumer of this seed. Other growing regions include Syria, Turkey, Iran, Palestine and the USA. Cumin comes from a herbaceous plant of the parsley family that grows in dry areas. Small white flowers arranged in umbels give rise to fruits containing the famous cumin seeds. Yaksha cumin - a loyal following? Our jeera, as it is called in Hindi, comes from the arid regions of Gujarat, near the city of Ahmedabad. This city of exceptional architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to an ashram, a communal place that Gandhi shared with his followers and friends for over 10 years. With its semi-arid climate, cumin thrives in these warm, sunny and somewhat spiritual lands.

Quelle finesse
Rien qu'en le humant je suis au Maroc.
I just compared this with a cumin I had purchased in the supermarket. Big difference! The perfume is so much more intense and the flavour is noticeably stronger. I am making quite a collection of your spices now and they look so beautiful in my drawer. Love all of the beautiful packaging, it makes cooking more even more inspiring.
